Tibetan cymbals, or ting-sha, are small prayer bells that were traditionally used in ceremonies in the Himalayan regions, including the countries of Nepal, Tibet, and India.
They are often used in meditation, sound therapy, energy clearing of a space, or as a musical instrument. They are also often rung at the beginning and end of a yoga class, ting-sha are excellent for space clearing, dispersing negative energy from the area.
Tibetan cymbals consist of two cymbals connected by a leather strap. They produce a beautiful, sustained sound. They are played by gently striking the edges of the cymbals together from top to bottom.
When held in the center of the cord at an angle of approximately 90 degrees, ting-sha emits an energetic sound capable of bringing awareness to the present moment, focusing the mind, balancing energy, and providing a special cleansing.
